Tide Watching Artistic Plaza is located in a government owned land at Chungcheng Rd. Tamsui, which was once fenced off by iron sheets. It was originally the parking space and empty land belonging to the Education Department and the Military Reserve Bureau. After the joint effort by New Taipei City Government and Tamsui Town Hall, the place was renovated, beautified and donned with green plants. Now, it transforms into the artistic and recreational space that connects the old street with the beautiful scenes of Tamsui River. It is accommodated with different thoughtfully designed hardware and software ,creating a broader recreational tourist space for the Tamsui old street with a deeper cultural and artistic elements of Tamsui, which becomes the new landmark of Tamsui. The Plaza integrates nature, history and arts. The two artistic walls with the installations of the "Wall of memories" and the "Tree of visions" are erected to invite more people to participate in the creation, leaving our memories and wishes.
