Gray Herons are mainly distributed throughout Europe, Asia and Africa and spend winter in Taiwan. They can be found around early October.
The Gray Heron has a very long neck and feet. Its beak and feet are yellowish brown. Its head is white with black decorative feathers. It can be found in inland watersides or meadows slightly far away from water. Gray Herons usually nest at the top of trees, but some will nest on the ground. They appear in wet farmlands, swamps, river mouth, and sandbank areas, often mixed inside a flock of egrets.
